For the last (5) weeks, Derrick, our guest writing instructors, has been working with our students to teach them story and structure as he's helped them to write their scripts for a 10 minute short film. It's not easy learning the screenplay format, but Derrick is an excellent, passionate teacher who has taught them these skills. I think he has also given some of our students a new passion for writing that they did not have before.
We will be reviewing the scripts and be selecting a winner soon. Along with writing, our editing class have been going very well. We should be moving in the camera class next.
Thank you to Derrick and all of our other volunteer instructors who give up so much of their time to make a difference in these men's lives and show them another direction. Thank you and God Bless you all!
